Amiri Starr is making a personal online appeal to become the next actor to play legendary hip hop artist Tupac Shakur on the big screen. Director Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day," "Tears of the Sun," "Brooklyn's Finest" ) will be directing a film about the late rapper. In a recent interview, Fuqua stated he is looking to find a new face to fill the role. "I want to discover someone new. I want to go to the streets and find him anywhere he might be in the world," stated Fuqua.
When Starr heard about the quest for an unknown actor to portray Tupac, he launched an aggressive grassroots campaign to convince Fuqua to give him an opportunity to show he is that actor.
